Programing note: I’ve recently discovered Twitter and strongly suspect that I will use that as my go-to, since everything is mostly a quip or picture anyways.

Everyone’s been doing that dumb 25 Random Questions thing on Facebook and Brando did this one instead.  Normally I’d post it on Facebook but I wouldn’t actually take part in something I’m making fun of people doing, so it winds up on the blog.

The rules
1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDB.com, find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them in a note for everyone to guess.

1. Oh, that’s Cosmo… he’s Chinese.

2. Revenge is never a straight line. It’s a forest, And like a forest it’s easy to lose your way… To get lost… To forget where you came in.

3. Ma? Ya on uppers?

4. Strangers with this kind of honesty make me go a big rubbery one.

5. Nice shot, Liebowitz.

6. Wolodarsky, go get the keys to that fishing boat, and throw them in the water. No, wait. They might have another set. Just blow it up.

7. That’s very clever, sir. But what if there’s a fire? I think violating fire codes and endangering the lives of children would be unwise at this juncture in your career, sir

8. Water-based lubricants, friend or foe? You be the judge.

9. It was nothing like that, penis breath!

10. Well, I remember Mel Gibson accurately, and he didn’t say that. That Polonius guy did.

11. My God, there’s people coming out of your butt.

12. Sitting there, alone in a foreign country, far from my job and everyone I know, a feeling came over me. It was like remembering something I’d never known before or had always been waiting for, but I didn’t know what. Maybe it was something I’d forgotten or something I’ve been missing all my life. All I can say is that I felt, at the same time, joy and sadness. But not too much sadness, because I felt alive.

13. I’m a zit.  Get it?

14. It’s like a division sign… I just wish you would take those off.

15. Now I know I have a heart, because it’s breaking

I got a new job!
I got a new job!
I got a new job!

I no longer sling cameras to the common folk. I have upgraded to doing customer service at our warranty center. I schedule techs to come out and do in-home repairs and talk to various people across the nation about their broken equipment. I talked to someone in Hawaii yesterday. Today I talked to someone in Arkansas who burned their original box and couldn’t send in their broken TV. It feels more like a team over there, not a bunch of egos in the room. They even went on a haunted hayride in the fall. A haunted hayride!

I’m in school again
I’m in school again
I’m in school again.

I’m taking 2 classes that seem pretty knarly, one dealing with Adobe Creative Suite and the other with the ins and outs of the fashion industry. I figured it would be good since I’m a public comm. major. There’s one class that is the worst. Another class my teacher tried to tell us to turn off our phones by accidently saying, “Everyone needs to turn your vibrators off.”

Don’t forget to follow me, Brando, Jim, and McKinley in our Oscar pool, which can be found here. According to the system, I tied for first with a score of 38 for the nominations. Not to bad for a movie fan.

Everyone should go see “The Wrestler.” Everyone should download Hovahead, a mashup of Radiohead and Jay-Z. Lots of new things going on. I’m in it. : )

Now, I’m no wizard, or even a doctor/scientist/biology enthusiast, but I’m pretty sure those aren’t supposed to go on your heart. I’m not even sure they’d fit anyways.

Click here to read an interesting article about the possible Oscar shake-ups from the Golden Globe winners. Puts a lot of things in perspective, if you enjoy the movies like I do. I promise my thoughts soon!

I’m trying to go full throttle into Oscar season. I’m even in an Oscar pool with my friend Brando who is a film publicist’s assistant and noted film blogger Jim Rohner of Zoom In, whom Brando collaborates with. I serve as the “Oscar enthusiast” of the group and feel really cool being with 2 people who deal with movies for a living. Check out all the action  HERE

Round one includes Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Original Screenplay. More to come after Critic’s Choice.

Perhaps I shall update more with thoughts on various movies as I see them? Yes? I’ll come at you kids soon with Milk and hopefully Slumdog Millionare. Yes, that’s the most I’ve seen because, 1. I live in Buffalo, NY and 2. Getting your car totaled in a car accident from a drunk driver in a pick up truck with snow plows makes it harder to get out of the house.

Whenever you see lists compiled of artists who died too soon/young, you never see Aaliyah. She didn’t even OD or kill herself, she died due to “light aircraft” and was out of her control.

Just a thought.
